About Our Cruise Blog

Cruisin Susan Cruise Blog - The Passion Begins

Welcome to Cruisin Susan Cruise Blog. Its been many years since a quick hop to the Bahamas turned our lives around. It was Fathers Day and my daughter, Lauren, and I surprised my husband with a week-end cruise from Miami to Nassau. On the first day my husband, Andy, was drawn to the art auction, while Lauren and I opted for bingo. Soon Lauren and I were rushing into the art auction shouting “We won! We won!”. Imagine Andy’s shock when we told him we had won another cruise. We all expected to be taking another weekend hop to the Bahamas, so we were speechless when we looked at the eighteen choices the cruise line laid before us. They ranged from a week-end cruise to Nassau to a twenty-one day cruise of Europe. Needless to say, a few weeks later we were off on the European adventure of our lives.

We began by spending a couple of nights in Paris, then flew to Marseilles to board our ship. The twenty-one days flew by; Villefranche Sur Mer, Monaco, Nice, Barcelona, Gibraltar, Lisbon, several ports in Ireland and England, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Cherbourg and Le Havre in northern France. Suddenly the wonderful adventure was over, and we felt like it surely had only begun.

Since that day we have returned six times to cruise Europe, and traveled to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, several other cities in China, South Africa, Swaziland, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Morocco, Gibraltar, Turkey, most Mediterranean islands and  most Caribbean islands. We became world travelers, and as attested to by our sixty-three cruises, cruising is without a doubt our preferred mode of vacationing.

  1. Good morning, I have advice for all cruisers that travel to Holland and have the intention to visit the tulip fields near Amsterdam.
I am aware of the act that many visitors of this area waste a lot of time because they don’t exactly know where to find the best panoramic views and if this fields are still in full bloom. Well for everybody who comes to Holland I have good news. When you intend to go to the tulip fields first consult http://www.paspoortbollenstreek.nl. It’s a new service that started in 2012 and visitors every day get the latest news about what they can expect when they travel to the fields. So where the fields are in full bloom, where the panoramic views are, etcetera.
All this information is given to you because of a clever invention called Tulip Field Radar. How it works? Rather simply…People who are living in this area daily cross by bike all routes through this bulb district and on base of their information, gathered by Tulip Field Radar, there is a regular update with very interesting details.

  2. The recommendations you shared here are extremely precious. It was such an enjoyable surprise to have that looking forward to me when I woke up now. They are often to the point and straightforward to interpret. Thank you very much for the valuable ideas you have shared above.
